Champagne Grand Cru Winegrower and Winemaker
Situated in the Montagne de Reims on a hillside planted exclusively with black varietals, the Ambonnay vineyards cover 385 hectares of vines. Located in the traditional birthplace of Champagne, the Ambonnay-Bouzy hillside faces south/south-east and benefits from ideal geological and soil conditions as well as a microclimate well-suited to the production of high-quality grapes. The terroir is located on a hillside where the limestone breaks through on the surface which is covered by a thin layer of clay-limestone. Pinot Noir thrives in these conditions and the grapes grown here give birth to fruity and well-structured wines that are highly sought after by lovers of fine champagnes.
Ambonnay is also situated on the Route des Vins which runs from Reims to Épernay. The village is equidistant between the Marne villages of Reims, Châlons-en-Champagne and Épernay making it an easy stopping off point for those wishing to pay us a visit!
